CEL Collaborates with Leaders in Energy Technology Advancement at MIT

CEL CEO Tanya Barham spoke at the MIT Energy Conference in March as part of a session titled “From Silos to Synergy: Public-private Pathways to a Decarbonized Built Environment. Touching on CEL’s collaboration with public schools to balance energy demand in aging educational facilities with strained budgets, Barham emphasized the impact of public–private partnerships in implementing advanced energy technology in the public sector.

“It was an honor to have the opportunity to discuss energy challenges and opportunities with other industry luminaries, particularly best practices community-centered partnerships can employ to help meet the needs of diverse stakeholders,” said Barham. “Energy technology is evolving at a rapid pace and CEL is harnessing these changes to help our partners save money and time.”

Barham was joined on the energy technology panel by Zeyneb Magavi from HEET, William B. Xia from NYSERDA, and Christina McPike from WinnCompanies.

Founded in 2006, MIT Energy Conference is the largest student-led energy & climate conference in North America. Each year, the conference gathers hundreds of industry professionals, investors, scholars, and policymakers to present, learn and discuss pressing challenges and opportunities that redefine the future of the energy and climate sectors. Major events of the conference include keynote speeches, panel discussions, climate tech startup showcase, networking sessions, and special sessions.
